Rich in appearance and extremely durable, etched metal nameplates and overlays are used for everything from awards and plaques to nameplates used in harsh marine or industrial applications. Etched metal nameplates are available in stainless steel (silver) or brass (gold) as well as copper and aluminum. Etching is a photochemical process in which the surface material of the nameplate is removed in a chemical bath. Once the copy or the background is etched, it is usually filled with a contrasting color, resulting in an extremely durable and permanently readable product.
